Five calls for proposals are planned to be announced under the Business development, innovation and SME Programme, two big calls and three small grant schemes.
Two big calls focuses on:
1) Green Industry Innovations
2) Welfare Technology and Ambient Assisted Living
These calls differ in the sources of funding. The Call BIN 01 (closed on 17/09/2021) is financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism (NFM) and the Call BIN 02 (closed on 4/10/2021) by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA FM). Both calls will support only SMEs and large enterprises in research and development, applications and commercionalization of innovative green technologies, processes, products or services and in greening their business operations.
Small grant scheme SGS 01 (closed on 23/10/2020) is financed by the NFM and is focused on development of start-ups in both programme areas. Start-ups could apply for investments to technologies, machinery, equipment, devices and enterprise development.
Next two small grant schemes are going to be announced within the education component, focused on Education, Scholarships, Apprenticeships and Youth Entrepreneurship. The scheme SGS 02 is financed by the NFM and will support institutional cooperation projects. The scheme SGS 03 is financed by the EEA FM and will support international mobility projects. Both schemes should reflect main programme areas. Young entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs will be priority groups in project assessment.
Main areas of support:
1) Green Industry Innovations
This part is focused mainly on: circular economy, green ICT, (new) innovative products, technologies, services, which will reduce environmental burdens through lower raw materials/energy consumption and production emmissions, smart society, renewable energy, new mart construction technologies/solutions and innovations in transportation.
2) Welfare Technology and Ambient Assisted Living
In this area can be supported: telemedicine, biotechnologies, robotics and automated technologies, development of products and innovations helping people with various disabilities, vital signs monitoring products suitable for home use, home care systems for chronically ill persons, technologies for smart houses, intelligent textiles or ICT systems, etc.

CALLS from the Fund for Bilateral Relations
The objective of these calls is to strengthen bilateral relationships through the cooperation and knowledge transfer, experience and understanding between the donor states and Slovakia. Calls for travel grants and calls for development of bilateral initiatives supports entrepreneurs and educational institutions. Personal and online meetings, matchmakings, B2B events, etc. are supported with the aim to elaborate the projects for the programme calls, further development of project partnerships and strengthen bilateral cooperation between donnors states and Slovakia.
